Printed vinyl placemats
A vinyl placemat is a printed vinyl sheet with the artwork laminated under a wearing layer and finished at the edge. Cut to a place setting, to the length of a table, or to any shape you draw, for furniture in daily use.

Vinyl placemats built for daily use
A wet glass, a dropped fork, and a cloth pulled across it before anyone sits down again. How the mat takes that depends on its layers.
A place mat, 24 x 14 in, on a table
The section is drawn out of scale so both layers are visible at once. The gauge beside the wearing layer is the specification: a 0.4 mm printed vinyl face.
We make vinyl placemats and table mats that protect the furniture and carry the brand where it is seen every day.
A mat sits on a piece of furniture somebody chose and takes a wet glass, a dropped fork and a wiped cloth every day. The face is proofed against the same color standard as our cartons, so a mat specified alongside packaging matches it.

Resolution, texture and edge
A mat is looked at from directly above, under a lamp, for the length of a meal. The surface and the edge are chosen for that.
High resolution: Printed edge to edge, at the resolution a surface read from about half a meter above needs.
Textured matte: Matte and anti glare, so a pendant or a desk lamp does not sit in the middle of the artwork.
Edge options: Clean cut, sealed or stitched, whichever suits the room.

Matte, heat resistant, and flat from the first use.
From a working desk to a laid table, the surface takes a warm dish, wipes clean and keeps its color.
What we make
Three standing sizes off one tooling family, and six ways they get ordered. Beyond them a mat is made in any format, round, square, rectangle or cut to your own drawing, which costs a tool and one extra proof round.
Placemats
The 24 x 14 in (610 x 350 mm) standard, sized to a setting of plate, glass and cutlery, sealed at the edge so it does not lift or fray with washing. Custom placemats in bulk are counted per artwork rather than per order, so one livery across a room is one run.
Table runners
A 35 x 16 in (900 x 400 mm) strip down the center of a dining table, a console or a sideboard, printed as one artwork across the full length rather than as a repeat.
Full table mats
47 x 24 in (1200 x 600 mm), covering the working area of a dining table or a desk in one piece. Supplied rolled in a tube, not folded, so it lies flat from the first use.
Bar, counter and worktop mats
The same construction cut to a drawing for a bar top, a reception counter or a fitted worktop, in any shape the furniture is.
Desk and console mats
Custom desk mats for a working desk, a hall console or a hotel writing table, where the mat protects a finish that is expensive to repair.
Branded and hospitality runs
Branded placemats and the other formats printed to a brand standard for a hotel, a restaurant group or a showroom, with a different artwork per room type off one tooling set.
The other line in this group is card game boxes and decks, which are folding cartons and are made in the plant rather than on the vinyl line. Custom playmats are this same printed vinyl cut to a play area rather than to a place setting.

Matte surface
A smooth, matte face that takes daily use and protects what is under it.

Built to last
Durable printed vinyl, wipe clean and heat resistant, with edge options that survive repeated washing.

Made for the room
Printed to your color standard, to match the room and the brand.
Printed here, matched to the room
The mat is proofed against the color standard it has to live with, whether that is a packaging range, a brand palette or a material sample from the room, and signed off on the production material, not on paper. Color on vinyl does not behave as it does on board. The printing, the proofing and the color control run in the same 90,000 square foot plant in Ahmedabad as the cartons, which is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and operates to BRCGS packaging standards and SEDEX, with certificates available on request; the laminating and the cutting run on a vinyl line, and none of those standards is claimed for it. Every order leaves with its packing list and packing detail by case.

Artwork checked at full size
Reviewed edge to edge at the finished size rather than scaled down. A mat is printed to its own edge, so there is no border to hide a resolution problem in. Anything outside the three standing sizes is checked against the drawing at the same time, because the cut and the artwork have to agree before either is committed.

Color proof on production vinyl
Proofed on the material that will be run, not on paper. Vinyl holds color differently from board: the same ink film reads darker and flatter on a matte vinyl face than on a coated sheet.
- Proofed on
- Production vinyl, not paper
- Face
- 0.4 mm, matte and anti glare
- UV cured, full color, edge to edge
Match against your color standard
The proof is compared to whatever the mat has to live with: a carton range, a brand palette, or a physical sample from the room. You sign off on the match before anything is printed at volume, and the approved standard is stored against the part number, so a reorder next year is matched to what you approved.

UV print, full color
Cured as it prints, edge to edge, at the resolution a surface viewed from half a meter above needs. A mat is looked at from directly overhead under a lamp for the length of a meal, closer and for longer than a carton. The file review is done at full size for the same reason.

Laminate the printed face
The print is bonded under the wearing layer, not coated on top of it. Laminated, the artwork takes the cloth and the cutlery without wearing off, and the edge can be cut clean, sealed or stitched afterwards. The bond cannot be changed after this step.

- Laminated on a vinyl line
- Edge
- Cut, sealed or stitched after bonding
Cut, seal or stitch the edge
Cut to the standing size or to your drawing, then finished at the edge in the way you specified. The edge is the first part of a mat to fail, so it is specified per order: a clean cut is the plainest and the least protected, a sealed edge closes the laminate against a cloth pulled across it every day, and a stitched edge survives repeated washing.

Roll or lay flat, and pack
The 47 inch table topper goes into a tube; the two smaller sizes ship flat. A mat folded to fit a smaller carton takes a crease across the face that never fully leaves it. Every order ships with its packing list and packing detail by case.

What a quote is built from. Two things outside this table change it more than the artwork does: what the mat sits on, and how it gets cleaned. Say both on the quote.

Placemat and table mat questions
A printed vinyl face, about 0.4 mm, with the artwork laminated under the wearing layer, not coated onto it. A laminated face can be cut clean, sealed or stitched; a coated one can only be sealed. With the print under the wearing layer, wiping does not wear it off.
Three standing sizes with no tooling cost: 24 x 14 in (610 x 350 mm) for a single place setting, 35 x 16 in (900 x 400 mm) as a runner down the center of a table or a console, and 47 x 24 in (1200 x 600 mm) as a full table topper for a dining table or a desk. Beyond those, mats are made in any format: round, square, rectangle or cut to your own drawing. Anything outside the three costs one tool and one extra proof round, and is the normal route for a round setting, a bar top, a reception counter or a fitted worktop.
The face is heat resistant. It is specified for a dining table: a served plate, a warm dish and a hot mug, and it wipes clean afterwards. No temperature figure is published.
With a damp cloth. The face is sealed, so spills sit on the surface and a wipe takes them off. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners: both attack a printed vinyl face and take the print off first.
Clean cut, sealed or stitched. A clean cut edge is the plainest. A sealed edge is the most durable against repeated washing. A stitched edge gives the mat a sewn border.
Yes. The face is proofed against the color standard it has to live with, whether that is a carton range we already print for you, a brand palette or a material sample from the room, and it is signed off on production vinyl, not on paper. Color on vinyl does not behave as it does on board.
Partly. The printing, the proofing and the color control are ours and run to the same standard as the packaging. The laminating and the cutting run on a vinyl line, not in the carton plant, because vinyl is not paperboard.
Bulk runs, counted per artwork rather than per order. A hotel group running four room types is four runs, each carrying its own setup, and a custom size adds a cutting tool on top. Custom printed placemats for a restaurant group are counted the same way, one run per artwork rather than one per outlet. Send the formats and the artwork count and a planner prices the whole program.
New orders run 15 to 20 days in production, from approved artwork and a signed off proof. Repeat orders run 8 days, because the settings are stored against the part number and a reorder skips setup. Shipping time is additional and depends on destination.
The quote is one landed price: the cartons, tooling, structural design, proofing, the documents that travel with the order, import duty, shipping and delivery to your address, in the US or anywhere else. Nothing is quoted on top of it later.
The 24 in and 35 in formats ship flat. The 47 in table topper ships rolled in a tube, because a mat that size holds a crease if it is folded. A rolled mat lies flat from the first use; give it an hour on the table if it has been in transit in the cold.
What to send
The finished size and the artwork are enough for a price. Say what the mat sits on and how it gets cleaned as well: between them those two change the specification more than the artwork does.
